Learning Norwegian 
No beating around the bush!

Norwegians prefer to speak Norwegian and can find it somewhat scary to speak English, even though they speak it well enough. As a labour migrant coming to Norway it will therefore be useful to learn the language.
Norwegian is easy to learn as the grammatical rules are simple, verbs have the same conjugation and the vocabulary is quite succinct.

In Mo I Rana there are two providers of Norwegian language for labour migrants.

Languages cafés are events where people meet up at cafés and let you practice speaking Norwegian through casual conversation and coffee.

There is also the possibility to learn Norwegian online through the university NTNU or even through the free app Duolingo!
