Science center Nordland

The main theme at Vitensenter Nordland is the region’s natural resources, technology and digitization. Interactive exhibitions and pedagogical teaching programs are selected based on these themes.

At Vitensenter Nordland, children, young people and the general public in Nordland will take part in a national initiative in mathematics, science and technology. The science centre is a learning and experience offer that contributes to increased competence, recruitment and value creation.

At the Science Center, you will find many installations where we show how phenomena work in practice. The exhibits are interactive, so you can touch and do, not just see.

Høyt og lavt climbing park

Our climbing park has climbing routes designed for young and old. The routes will challenge your balance and coordination, and push you to step out of your comfort zone. There is also a zip-line!

The six climbing routes are colour coded and designed for participants of different heights. To take the easiest route, kids should be at least 80 cm (31.5 inches) tall.

No previous climbing experience is necessary, and you don’t have to be super fit. All participants receive climbing gear and instruction. Bring your kids, grandchildren, friends or colleagues, and enjoy the challenge together!

Go Bowling!

Located in the city center, at Fridtjof Nansens gate , you can go bowling or play biljard and shuffleboard, as well as enjoying some food and beverages!

Paintball

Gather at least six friends, and go play paintball!

The court is avaiable every day, except when the local paintball team is practicing, every tuesday and thursday between 18:00 – 20: 00.

Go skiing!

Skillevollen Alpinsenter is a ski resort located on the outskirts of Mo i Rana. Here you will find a children’s slope, an ice rink (tennis court in the summer), illuminated trails, hiking trails, and a biathlon arena built to international standards.

Rana Museum

Rana Museum has a special focus on recent history and industrial culture, and in the exhibition we show everything from large machines to listening stations with films from the rebuilding period after the war. The industrial adventure and the developments that took place also changed fashion and homes, which is why we show interiors and clothes from the 1960s and 70s.
