Are you ready to experience the magic of art and culture?
Look no further than the theatre festival “Vinterlys” 11th -17th of February. This year marks the festival’s 23rd season and it offers a wide range of cultural experiences that will leave you inspired and moved in many different ways.
Among the highlights this year are several performances both about and by the famous Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen. His works are known for exploring social- and gender issues in a profound way. We look forward to Nordland Teater’s “Når vi døde vågner” (When we dead awaken), The Nationaltheatre’s “Hold kjeft, det er Ibsen” (Shut up, it’s Ibsen) and Ellen Horn’s lecture on Peer Gynt at Gålå. Not least, an interesting talk by Ibsen nerd and actress Linda Mathisen. In addition, we have invited the drama students at Polarsirkelen High School to create an Ibsen play for children; “Har Henrik damestemme” (Does Henrik have a lady’s voice?).

The festival aims to present high-quality content that gives the audience the opportunity to explore and understand art and culture in a deeper way. Culture means a lot to each and every one of us and it is also essential for urban development. Mo i Rana is constantly working to become an even better city for more people, – and cultural experiences such as ”Vinterlys” contribute to increasing interest in both visiting and living in the city.

Three plays are performed in English; “Shakespeare og ondskapen (Shakespeare and malice)”, Cat Smiths “Nouveau Fuck” and “Hamlet – as told on the street”.
